Ha, who would have thought that Sunshine Square in Medford (which is really close to North Bellport) would have been safer than that shopping center in Farmingville? I haven't heard of any major robberies in Sunshine Square since they've renovated it five years ago.

Rats. I was hoping it would be a good kind of "heating up," like some new restaurants, nightlife, things to do.

The economy is circling the drain. Expect more of this in more places.

I knew as soon as I saw the title what this was going to be about.
A few spoiled apples will ruin it for the whole bunch.
Farmingville has gotten beaten up pretty bad on this forum occassionally, but I don't think it's *that* bad. I have customers in Farmingville, I was not in fear for my life while doing work there.

I'm not trying to put it down, just making people aware of what was happening.

I haven't had any problem in that area either. Even the many times I ate in the Fridays and Applebees there.

Even ordering takeout from Fax Chix right around the corner wasn't a problem, and the Stop & Shop in that shopping center is basically like any other Stop & Shop. (That's actually one thing I like about S&S. They don't let their stores become a problem like how Pathmark is in Shirley.)

We'll have to wait and see what the details are of the stabbing. A random loony or a gang incident?

The bank robbery is nothing..we had one right up the road in Smithtown during the summer..it's not indicative of an area going bad, it's not like the robbers usually live in the house next door to the bank.

I'm in Farmingville fairly often as my friends parents live there and we've been to the sports place there for kids stuff..and I grew up in that area. It's basically going to be Brentwood/CI in 15 to 20 years. It doesn't feel dangerous, but it's going to be a Latino neighborhood at some point. I'm sure people who lived in Brentwood the 60's didn't think that there would ever be drive by shootings in their town, but there were this summer. It is what it is.
