I had the best rush hour commute today from exit 62 of LIE (Nichols rd) to rt 347. Stopped at just one light. It took me about 13 minutes from 5:52 pm - 6:05 pm.
Just giving a update.

For some perspective... it's a 6 minute drive from exit 68 to exit 62 on the LIE in the morning rush.

I was through there a few weeks ago and something was different. Was the light north of Portion eliminated?

Remember, this is the best time for me, the sun was shining and the cars were moving fast and everything was right with the world yesterday. Under normal circumstances though.... I would usually stop at 2-3 lights and the traffic would be slower than yesterday. 15 mins+ for sure to 347.

OBH.... not sure about any lights eliminated, but I might be wrong.

They eliminated the intersection/traffic light just north of the Portion overpass.
Traffic still sucks.

Now people from Bellport can defy the laws of physics, covering 8+ miles (as the crow flies, which means it's more than that in terms of driving distance) doing 70MPH in 6 minutes.
