as the poster said it's 40 minutes away from Throgs Neck, Huntington is my guess as the furthest to the east, i had done the Stamford commute for nearly a year, and yes getting over either Thorgs Neck or Whitestone bridge is the most annoying part, once you are on 95 north, it's just a 30 minutes drive

Alright, I am feeling better about my choice then. Now I just need to find the right place.

The impression I am getting is that the Northern shore area is nice? We are hoping for something a little more suburban than Queens, we value greenery

What do people think of Great Neck or Port Washington?

North shore is nice.
Great Neck and Port Wash are nice.
Give Little Neck a look..In Eastern Queens but nice.

45-60 is WITHOUT traffic. You will most certainly hit traffic.
