It seems I can't find this info anywhere on the net. Thought I might as well ask the locals. What exactly are the most "active" days at Zuma Beach? I'm planning a visit and Malibu is on my lists of places I want to visit for the day. I just want to know when are the most people and activities there? Every time I look up pictures or on Google Maps, it seems empty. I'm just looking to have a good fun day at the beach.

Weekends, of-course as well as holidays. That's if you want crowds. Personally I prefer week days when Zuma & all LA beaches are less crowded both on the sand & in the water.

That's perfect! What do you mean? I was under the assumption that California is sunny almost every day?

Thanks. I usually prefer secluded beaches as well but since this would be my only time and chance to see Malibu I wanted to have fun and party with the locals while I'm at it!

It's not uncommon for the day to start off cloudy due to coastal fog but it generally clears by late morning.

Ahh. Well that's fine. What do you say about 10/11-ish am? Is it foggy then? What time does it get sunny? I'm only planning to stay probably 2 hours at the most. What other things are there to do in Malibu?

Zuma isn't a "party" beach but rather a family beach. I've been visiting Zuma since the 1960s. I was there yesterday. There are sheriffs patroling on ATVs. It is very safe. It costs $10 to park but it is easy to park on PCH.

You can see Zuma real time here:

Drive Malibu Canyon Road to Piuma Road to Las Flores Road.

Google Maps

Malibu Pier and Surfrider Beach (more of a point break surfing beach vs Zuma which is beach break)

Eat at Moonshadows, Gladstones, or the Sea Lion (now called Dukes).

Visit my elementary school, Our Lady of Malibu Catholic School

Go visit the nudie beach here:

Yeah, late morning is a good time but on weekends the parking lots can fill up fast so consider getting there early enough to avoid parking hassles. Malibu is basically a wealthy residential area without any sort of amusement parks\ pier like Santa Monica. There is good fishing off the Malibu pier & Surfrider's beach pier. And some good restaurants but many are a bit expensive. I love to drive up into the Santa Monica mountains for fun roads and hiking. Places like Topanga Canyon are beautiful.
