Basically. Half Irish, half Armenian.

Does that make a difference in dating in LA?

A lot of women in LA do have high standards, which is why the single ratio in the city/county is so high.

Ratios are a silly way to measure your chances of finding a mate. When you take away the day laborers, men over 60 years old, gay men, plus the men who are still living their mom's basement, the numbers look quite different.

^^^^^ I'd throw bitter, angry men in there too.

Just because someone is single doesn't mean they are looking for a relationship now or ever.

I am single but I don't want to be in a relationship nor do I plan on getting married.... EVER. So you also have folks like me; those who are single but UNAVAILABLE INDEFINITELY. Just because someone is single doesn't mean they are available or a prospect.

Most people make the mistake that someone who is single is available. Some people are not interested in dating or relationships.

This describes the majority of singles in LA (both genders). Too self-centered to let anyone in. That may not be jackie's case, but is the majority.

I agree. Seems like even if there are enough available men out there, they're mostly the scraps that nobody wants. Not some diamond in the rough who went unnoticed, but Mr. Wrong entirely.
