Ended up getting gas at MLK and Anaheim for $2.99, and not only do they not take credit cards, they charge a 45 cent fee to use a debit card

Anyone know a good honest mechanic in the area?, I'd like to have my car checked out.

I put it thru a lot on that 4 day trip, definitely needs to be given a once over.

Thx.

Oberjuerge Auto Repair on Redondo is a nice family run garage. It is almost at the corner of Broadway and Redondo. Give them a call. I have used them in the past and found them to be very helpful.

Thank you.

I also found this place - Ronin Autowerks BMW Repair and Service Orange County Fullerton, California

Anyone know anything about them?

Really noticing the bad condition of the roads over here

also noticing that drivers are turning on red, is that legal over here?,

or just happening cos there are no cops around.

people need to turn left on red or else they'll never get through the light. we don't have enough left turn signals in LA. You'll need to get used to doing that or else waiting at one light for the rest of your life or being honked at for half an hour

Fullerton is a LONG way to drive for auto repair. Perhaps a BMW dealer would be better, at least at first? I think there is one on Signal Hill.

As far as the left on red, as soon as the light turns green, you move as far out into the intersection as you can. Because people will continue to drive through the light when it is yellow, you have no choice to turn left on the red because you are already in the process...sometimes several cars will turn left on the red, and this is considered normal.

Gas price watch says the cheapest gas is at Redondo and 10th for $2.73 - Arco,

I'll check that out today, hopefully that update is not 6 months old...

$2.73 sounds great!!! It's $3.29 at 4th & Loma.
