If you google for "school performance maps" you can find a nice site that shows you school quality (as determined by standardized tests, which aren't everything...), color-coded on a map.
The problem with Golden Valley High is that its student population is drawn from the high density apartment corridor of Jake's Way, which also happens to have a considerable concentration of Section 8 residences.

Most of the other Santa Clarita schools do not have this problem.
