I have to wonder does this Mayor represent the legal residents of L.A or the illegal immigrants?

Will he choose illegal immigrants over tax paying citizens here legally?

This seems like a big mess brewing.

Garcetti and others are in denial but L.A did get Trump voters. Don't have city stats but over 500,000 people in LA county voted for Trump .
___

“If the first day, as president, we see something that is hostile to our people, hostile to our city, bad for our economy, bad for our security, we will speak up, speak out, act up and act out,” Garcetti said.

The mayor also said police would continue to enforce Special Order 40, which bars officers from asking people about their immigration status.

I think if police refuse to turn over illegal alien criminals to Immigration as they now do, thats when Federal money stops coming to LA or any other sanctuary city. I sure hope Trump doe's this.

Yes , but Garcetti keeps on insisting he will fight and fight for the rights of illegals.

I think from what I've read Garcetti was born in Mexico. But he is not Mexican, his parents are US citizens. That's maybe why.

He is just speaking "truth to powah". Note that noone else can speak with a different point of view, i.e. when so many of us demand an end to this illegal immigration, we can neither speak and it isn't "to powah" when we do so.

Well that's part of the far left agenda it seems . You can speak your mind and express feelings but the second you disagree you are a guilty of the isms. Racism , sexism ,etc

This is used in order to shame the person that doesn't agree with you and shutdown the conversation.
It's worked for a while but I think that tactic could be coming to an end at least on a National level .

That kind of thing even makes me uncomfortable to discuss illegal immigration online.

Poll: Most Californians oppose mass deportations, border wall | fox5sandiego.com
If you read between the lines, probably many Los Angeles residents would support comparatively mild measures to reduce the illegal immigration problem. Garcetti, who was only voted in by a small, vocal percentage of voting-eligible residents, should tread carefully.

Sounds good to me. Trump is a wishy washy d-bag anyway, so I expect him to soften his stance on illegal immigration, like he's already doing with the ACA.

He was born in LA but has one-quarter Mexican heritage. His father is half.
