Got a friend coming out who is a musician and jazz lover. I already got us some tickets to Billy Harper at the Jazz Bakery, and I'm planning on the Monday night jam at Babe and Ricky's. Any other blues or jazz places you can recommend?

I know Bar 107 downtown sometimes has acts but can't find anything.

Thanks in advance.

Nick

There's a place in Santa Monica on 4th Street across from Benihana's (sorry don't remember the name) There's also BB King's on Universal City Walk. And the Mint on Pico and Crescent Heights in Mid City.

I forgot about the Mint, thanks. BB's is touchy- my band was one of the last BLUES bands to actually play there, lol. They really churn out the cover bands these days, but I will check it out. Things change pretty quick.

Haven't been to Fais Do Do for awhile either.

That helps. Thanks.

Yep, very nice. I think the name is the same. Kinda steep, but if someone good playing, it will be worth it. I wonder if the Conga Room has moved downtown yet...? It was at the Wiltern.

Thank you.

I think it is 'in transit' because it's headed for the LA Live complex, once they get the next phase done. Its gonna be at Olympic and Figueroa, according to their website.

And I was mistaken- no idea why i thought it was at the Wiltern building.
