If you had a pet traumatized by the noise, I am sure you would feel differently.

Some pets get scared, some don't. Back home some dogs would be outside with us while others would be like your own. I mean they're animals. They don't understand that it's human fun. Fireworks for me growing up meant block party and BBQ. Sounds like a different culture in CA. You're not going to ever get conditions to be perfect for your dog's personality in the big city.

Given the city's issues, we all know that the money would be better spent elsewhere within the PD. If you lead with this argument I wouldn't be surprised when they hand you shooting range earmuffs for the dog and shoo you both away.

I am certainly not the only one in this city whose pet(s) is/are bothered with fireworks.
It is a city wide problem with pet owners.
I do however seem to be the only one willing to take the bull by the horns and do something about it.
Someone has to.

Bob.

Technically, enforcement of fireworks/explosives falls under the jurisdiction of the Fire Department. Refer to Division 56 of the the Los Angeles Fire Code.

I just spent the last hour researching the los angeles fire code, and saw nothing referring to a division 56.
Matter of fact the fire codes themselves were extremely vague, except for buildings, and the storage of explosives.

Nothing about the fire department being responsible for enforcing fireworks laws.

Bob.

So you dislike Fourth of July fireworks as well as cars. As a matter of curiosity, from which country did you come? My initial guess would be one of the former Eastern Bloc countries.

Yes, the eastern block of Massachusetts , some 50 years ago.
What is with the statement about not liking cars?
Fraid that one went over my head.

Bob.

The enforcement is implied since it is contained in the Fire Code. Do you think the personnel on a fire engine passing an illegal discharge of fireworks is just going to wave, wish everyone a Happy Fourth, and go on their merry way?
