The Scientology presence in East Hollywood is hard to miss.

I know in on Franklin near 'los feliz/franklin hills' ....Huge Center. Been inside it. They are nice clean people to the outside world so they don't bother me at all. I don't recall it on Vermont and Sunset. I'm sure they have a lot of spots.

Their main headquarters is in what used to be the old Cedars-Sinai (Cedars of Lebanon until the early sixties) between Sunset and Fountain just west of Vermont . and the influence of Scientology is all over the neighborhood.

The facility you are referring to on Franklin is the Celebrity Center, for the big shots like Tom Cruise, and where the ordinary peons in the church slave away to cater to said big shots.

The area with the LEAST passionate and driven people in L.A. is a neighborhood few realize is in the city of L.A. - San Pedro.

A lot of drug addicts, general screw ups, criminal types, and people who don't aspire to do anything with their lives. And I don't mean hipsters although those exist there too. Plenty of Bros, also. Although Pedro is very diverse, it still has a large trashy white population of the sort that has become increasingly rare in most of L.A. County (and is even becoming rarer in Orange County). The nonwhite populations there seem equally trashy.

Interestingly Long Beach doesn't seem like that to the same extent, even though it also has a lot of all of the same groups it has more of a hustling, bustling, hard-working immigrant spirit befitting of the largest West Coast port city than its fellow port town Pedro has.

Right Celeb Center is the biggest and makes itself quite known. I don't seem to notice others as much

The main quarters can't be missed if you're on Sunset west of Vermont. There's even a street named L. Ron Hubbard Way.

Scientologists were one of the reasons why an East Hollywood precinct was one of the few precincts in the city of L.A. that voted for Trump , and the only one in the city of L.A. outside the northeastern fringes of the Valley. (The other reasons being Russians and Gary Johnson voters)

The church of Scientology owns an estimated $1.5 billion worth of real estate and own properties all over the world.

Leah Remini alone spent $5 million on Scientology.

I will take your word for it that they own a ton of real estate in LA. I seem to block a lot out but where I personally went (the celeb center) w Travolta's alleged bf at the time. I do have a very vague memory of running into a lot of their streets but don't recall them as well as you. And you still never said the 9$ a day parking in downtown w address given is considerably less than your $100 a day estimation. Just curious if this helps your life or opinion on LA? Thus far the deflection seems like a real LA thing to do.
