The research is irrelevant, look at the rest of the world death count. The fact is we are counting anyone that might even remotely had this virus. That is not how we should be counting the death count.

Someone that got diabetes, in nursing home , 80+ years old will unfortunately will die from almost any infection. Science means a lot to me but we also need to be realistic. If someone got shortness of breath, diabetes, cancer etc, sure they caught covidvirus which is contributing factor of death but not the main cause of death. Our real death count is around 25-50k from covid. For sure not the 90k+

Can't resist lying at the end, can you? Nobody considered credible believes there's a huge overcounting.

80+ years old will die from almost anything, which goes beyond your statement, but most deaths attributed to COVID-19 are younger than that. Hence, 10 years lost even with the very old people included.

While the other poster can’t verify the “10 years per person lost”, neither can you or anybody else say that statistical life expectancy averages would be the case for those fatalities. Just purely unknowable.

I have a 110 lb dog of a breed that statistically averages 10-12 years lifespan. He’s now 15. He has two debilitating conditions that generally kill within 6 - 12 months from diagnosis. He’s almost into year 3 since symptoms appeared. While his rear legs act like a hook and ladder trailer with no one at the wheel - he nevertheless is in apparently no pain, acts very happy everyday, still finds and chases his fetching dummies and various broken frisbees and balls.

People ask me when I’m going to put him down. I answer: ‘when he’s had his fill’ - which apparently ain’t yet.
