This covid pandemic really hurt the retail stores at westfield topanga village. Just over 5 years ago when i visited my parents in Encino,California I thought the village was a very very unique and nice outdoor shopping and restuarant center.

Over the past 6 months le pain quotidian, davids tea, everything but water, z gallerie and now sur la table is closing or has already closed down.

Hopefully the indoor westfield topanga mall won't see a 50 percent vacancy rate after the pandemic ends??

One thing I don't understand is when I visited my parents in August how westfield is still working hard on building that new complex where sears was. If westfields topanga village is struggling why add on to westfield topanga??

Hopefully the economy will bounce back after the pandemic.

Topanga Village designee sucks. They put Costco there when it wasn't supposed to be there and parking just sucks.

The parking at westfield topanga village is awful. Costco should never have been part of the project.

I went once. Never again. I find it poorly laid out with the same overpriced stores and restaurants you can find anywhere.

Costco has never closed.
Most of the smaller shops were closed, and some are closed even now.

It seems that the governor wanted to destroy small businesses. He was successful.

Our governor is trying to balance saving lives against the economic repercussions of the shutdowns. If more people would behave and wear masks they way they're supposed to, maybe more stores could reopen.

I went to this mall a few times for work events (team lunches usually). Now that I'm working from home, I haven't even seen the other employees since the end of March. I liked the layout, but what boggled my mind is that the powers that be decided to build an open air mall in an area that's notorious for high temperatures in the summer. Who's going to go shopping when it's 115 or 120?
