I can not tell you if that is a reasonable time frame for this particular route but I can tell you that the traffic in L.A is just awful. Can't tell you how many times I was stuck in traffic at 1 or 2 am in the morning. There is always traffic. So I would consider these 25 minutes as an absolute minimum.

Eventhough you will be 18... the following applies to persons under the age of 18 who want to drive..

Quote:
A parent, guardian, spouse or adult 25 years of age or older, who has a valid California driver license, must be with you when you drive. He or she must sit in a position close enough to take control of the vehicle, if necessary. It is illegal for you to drive alone at any time.

Most states require you to be 16 to have a driver's license (no adult supervision required.)

Damn...glad I don't live in TX. I'm 16 and I drive. Have had my license for a few months. Permits are at 15 1/2 and a license is 6 months after.

That's just what I was going to say. The actual language can be found HERE. A provisional license allows teenagers (under 18) to drive alone between the hours of 5:00AM and 11:00PM. They're prohibited from transporting passengers under the age of 20 unless they're accompanied by a licensed driver who is 25+.

Default Beach

Hi,

Beach on a Sat morning: Okay so from USC to Manhattan I'd estimate it would take approximately 45 - 55 minutes by driving the 110 - 105 - 405 off at El Segundo Blvd West - Sepulveda - Rosecrans - Highland - find what beach you want. I prefer El Porto to hang out then drive down to Manhattan Beach Pier or Hermosa Beach Pier for lunch.

Smog tends to be at its worst during the hot days of summer and is more prevalent inland than along the coast. Also during the Santa Ana winds (October through March) you get some off shore breezes which you'll notice much more smog over the ocean. Otherwise, winters are really nice and if you've watched the Rose Parade that's a great example of our winter weather.

Good Luck!
