So if I'm following this correctly: Mexican nationals went from being wealthy landholders to gardeners and cooks, and for this they should be thankful to America's Manifest Destiny. Something like this?

Actually LA belonged to Mexico before it was stolen.
They didn't cross the border - the border crossed them.

I am amazed at how little you people (Mexican's) know about history, first California was won in a war then Mexico was paid a lot for the loss of California. Now for another history lesson coming from a Spaniard, you are considered Mexican Indians nothing more and your territory does not extend across the entire North American Continent as you claim.
