Am I out of my mind for thinking this might be possible? Its so hard for me to imagine what traffic will be like in LA when I actually need to get somewhere, so I'm wondering if this is going to be extremely inconvenient. It seems like LB has a lot of nice affordable places with great amenities as well as great ocean views...but I have a job on 3rd St. Prom...

Thanks in advance!

Default long beach to santa monica

There is only one way to imagine a drive to work from Long Beach to Santa Monica--that is treacherous. But if it makes you feel better there are Angelino natives who drive even farther to get to work. Try Riverside to dowtown Los Angeles---Ouch!!

The only way it would be a half way "decent" drive is to leave at 4 a.m from LB to SM. It won't matter what time you leave Santa Monica back to LB - traffic will be bad any time of the day. You may consider moving to Manhattan or Redondo Beach.

Long Beach to Santa Monica in the morning going up the 405 freeway will be one hellish drive. Just be glad that winter is over with the rainy weather we typically get that time of the year.
