Vegas, baby, Vegas! It's so money.

Sorry, been watching Swingers.

I don't like Vegas that much, but it's an interesting place, and I did enjoy the one road trip we took there. It's an interesting drive.

Atlantic City is fun because of the beach and the boardwalk. I spent one fabulous night watching the Miss America parade there, before it got moved to (I think) Vegas. It's not all that exciting a place, though. I've never been a gambler or really into nightlift, but when we lived in the mid-Atlantic and wanted a weekend away we'd just head to NYC.

If gambling is your thing you only have to go to Palm Springs or the Solvang area. The Northeast has casinos. I only went to Vegas when there was good entertainment there but it has been years since that has worked for me. The biggest turn off for a non-gambler is to watch a couple with a baby in a stroller walking around the Strip at midnight knowing they probably just gambled away their child's college fund and of course the sloppy drunks. Oh, let's not forget the pigs at the Buffet going for their fourth plate of food. Can you tell I like it?

Don't forget the smokers, suz....blech

I am not much of a gambler but I enjoy Las Vegas occasionally for some shows. You do have to time the drive right though.

That's one of the biggest misconceptions about the Post-Mirage Las Vegas.
Statistics point out that only 27% of the tourists come here solely to gamble
anymore.

With the rise of Indian casino's, the casino operators here saw it coming and planned accordingly: pricey restaurants, shopping malls and shows and whatever attractions they could create to suck the dollars out of your wallet and credit cards faster than the slots and table games.

Our biggest spenders, stimulators of the economy here, are the Asians. It's been said that, in terms of spending, a plane load of Asians is equal to the spending power of 3 plane loads of domestic travelers.

Ever ride the elevator at the Venetian? Notice anything different? Where are the 4's on the elevator panel? You skip from the 39th floor to the 50th.
Oh, those superstitious Asians!

Back in the day...the 50's and 60's, Vegas was all about the adults. Dressing up, gloves, nice suits, great entertainment and no kids! My brother and I would just play by the pool all day while my parents went to the casino. My dad is very good at poker and blackjack and usually paid for the trip with his winnings. Of course to draw more people in, Vegas became Disneyland in the 80's till now having Mickie D's in the Riviera, Pirates, water and light shows castles, rollercoasters and Vegas's version of Rodeo Drive just in case you didn't spend enough money at the tables. From what I have heard the last few years the plan was to go back more to the adult version of Vegas instead of making it more family friendly which I totally agree with. My son's 13th birthday present was taking a friend to Circus Circus and stay in adjoining room to ours and having a ball in the amusement area of the hotel. Way too hot to even go to the pool. The was our last trip there and have no desire to go back.
