Does anyone have any information about the Berkshire Apartments on Brownsboro and Crescent Ave? I was searching for some reviews but couldn't find any. The rent seems low for the amenities they claim (hardwood floors, washer/dryer hookup, central heat and air). I'm just wondering if it is indeed too good to be true and the apartments are actually quite dumpy. Any info would help. Thanks!

Last time I heard about them people said they were a dump. So I advise you to stay away from them. Clearwater Farm Apartments, are good, might want to try them. Off Fern Valley in 40219

I live in the Crecent Hill neighborhood but I can't seem to picture exactly which ones you are referring to. Are they blue on the outside? Anyways, if you really like that area (I love this area) you might want to drive around and look for units for rent in old houses that have been converted to appartments. More detail? Ill try to help

If you're looking for a nice apartment you may want to check out www.mayflowerapts.com, in old lousiville. It's a very charming building.

Berkshire Apartments are along Brownsboro Rd just west of Zorn/Hillcrest Ave, I believe the street they're on is Crescent Ave. Pretty much a typical 1960's style smaller apt complex that does look somewhat on the dumpy side but are in a good location (Crescent Hill area, only a 10 minute walk from the eastern end of the Frankfort Ave corridor). They're right next to a Shell gas station and a good local bakery (Heitzman Bakery). Quite a few apartment complexes like this along Brownsboro Rd in that area, especially on the north side of the road once you get a bit further west of there (Clifton Heights area). There's a pretty nice-looking one at the corner of Birchwood and Brownsboro (about 1/2 west of Berkshire)-I can't remember the name of them but were probably built in the last 20 years. A few other OK-looking places (I don't know the names of many of them) and quite a few dumpy-looking ones.
If you have any other specific area you'd like let us know-me or anyone else would be happy to give you a rundown of it.

If you're interested in that particular part of town, I'd check out River Oaks on Mellwood. They seem nice and not quite as old as some of the other places in the area
