Yeah it's not that hard when you play Indiana and you also play in the big ten. If you ask me Wisconsin is still overrated. They don't deserve the #9 ranking since they only beat one good team in Ohio State.

I agree. There was an article I read that said UW is the only ranked team that didn't play a pre season opponent with a winning record last year. This came out during the preseason.

They also beat Iowa. And BTW, they're ranked #7.

They can only beat the teams they play, and that's what they're doing, consistently and usually convincingly. Which is what a highly ranked team is supposed to do.

Iowa just lost to northwestern so look for Iowa to fall out of the top 25. Wisconsin lost to Sparty early on. Wisconsin also put in 4 patsy's to play before they lost to Sparty in the big ten opener. I still don't think they are better than Ohio State and I don't think they deserve the number 7 ranking the receive when they play 4 cupcakes and MN and Northwestern every year.

Here it is.

UW football: How weak is the non-conference schedule?

Coaches and college football fans agree they don't deserve to be ranked #7. Which is why they rank 'em even higher, 5th and 6th respectively.

Every major team plays patsy teams at the beginning of the year, and every team plays clunkers in their own conference. And if you're a highly ranked team, you beat them convincingly, which is what Wisconsin has done. They've done everything they are supposed to do to earn the rank they have.

Iowa will fall a few spots but they won't all out of the top 25. In fact, look for Northwestern to make it into the top 25. But if Iowa does fall out, remember that Wisconsin had a part in it.

I was in Madison this past weekend, and took in the game ( along with 2 hockey games), and while Wisconsin was impressive, they could have tried a little harder to keep the score down; it was rather bloated even by the 3rd quarter, and my friend and I decided to leave just after "Jump Around" time ( an interesting sight in its own right) after the end of the 3rd quarter...

...as did pretty much every student

Oh well, I would have probably done the same if I was twenty years younger and still a student there.

I probably would have done the same at any age. At some point watching a blowout becomes boring, even if your side is winning.
