Ahhhhhh State Street.

I first went there in about 1996. So corporate now. Last time I was there, 3 years ago the only thing that hadn't changed was nasty homeless people talking **** to anyone who wouldn't give them money.

48 in the entire state. And these are chapter 12. We're number 1 by a whopping 11. This is a typical crap article . The sky is not falling. Some of the richest farmers in my area have used chapter 12 multiple times in their lives. It's there for a reason.

Do you even know if 48 is a lot or a little?? Well, it is the MOST. Do a little research on farm issues and get back to me. I'll get you started. https://www.theguardian.com/environm...uture-in-dairy

China is buying up US farmland at discount prices. They dont need to make $$$$. https://www.politico.com/news/2021/0...urchase-499893

I used to work as a foreman on a construction crew that BUILT dairy facilities and other farm buildings all over Wisconsin. My first real job was on a farm. And I actually LIVED in Monroe. I grew up down the road. I do not know any of the people in the story though.

What exactly are you out to prove here? YES dairy farming is especially tough and these changes have ben been a long time coming. YES we lead the country in farm bankruptcies. YES we are losing tons of family dairies.

None of this is news to me. Do you understand that when a dairy farm goes out of business, that does not mean the fields become worthless and turn back into timber or that the chinese swoop in and buy land at a huge discount?

Do you understand what you're reading in these articles (if you're even reading them)? My friend sold his herd and now rents his crop land. He cashed out his herd, retired, he earns a good living and he's happy.

Except to your interpretation he's a statistic proving that farmland is worthless, farmers are all going bankrupt, etc etc. Nothing could be more wrong. I'm not even trying to be argumentative here, you're just all over the place. You're conflating bankruptcies, chapter 12 bankruptcies, farmers selling herds, switching to beef cattle or other areas of farming, cashing out, happily retiring, and on and on.

You've got everything all mixed into one great big sloppy mess. My step dad sold his herd years ago. He still farms the land. But technically, there you go, another statistic that you would prefer to interpret as a bankruptcy from a dairy.

Point being dairy and most farming a lousy economic base for a state these days and holding on to it for old time's sake is bad business and bad for the state. Yet the state Leg wont invest anything into UW to lead the new economy because they are stupid hick fools. Would not even help fund a badly needed engineering building for UW when they can borrow at near 0%. And generally engineering is not code for a bunch of leftist socialists at any university. The state is so poorly run and it is sad to see. A great school has been reduced to second rate. And the great town overrun by criminals.

This is no longer an intellectual conversation. I'm not sure if it ever was.

If you have anything intelligent to say, I'm listening. So far you've just thrown out articles that you didn't read, that contained numbers you don't understand.

When that didn't work, you came back with TOTAL nonsense about state level economics. I figured with 74 in your screen name, that might be the year you were born. Your use of the english language had forced me to reconsider.

Stupid hick fools? Is that one level up or down from dumby idiot face?

Signed,

Just Another Stupid Hick Fool. At Best.

Yup
First up 74 was the year I graduated from UW fool. If you dont think the ag/dairy industry is in big trouble you are a fool. Everyone admits it and has for years. https://www.wpr.org/less-cash-coming...ial-resilience https://madison.com/business/decline...279b8275e.html https://paychecktalk.com/2021/07/28/...led/#wisconsin

As to stupid hick fools. I rest my case with this Bozo who has been around way too long. And he has power over the UW--LOL

And while I was in town on my otherwise nice visit. But I was safely in my hotel by dark.

More of the same. Glad to see you spent about 30 seconds putting together some links that say the same things I've been saying.

It's funny, you're calling me a fool, yet I've agreed with the numbers in every link you've posted. The trends will continue.

We get it, you hate farms and farmers. Good for you. Those fields are going to stay fields, whether you like it or not. They may change hands, but crops will be planted, and they will be farmed.

You have nothing intelligent to say on this subject. You are ignorant of the subject matter. On top of that you are speaking with your emotions. Go take a nap.

I have no idea where you came up with I hate farmers. Cows are not crops. And those fields--also in absolute decline. https://www.wpr.org/wisconsin-sees-f...acres-farmland

Go get educated. You talk big but know nothing.
