Anyone here have children in law enforement?

Since my daughter was 12 she has wanted to be a state trooper. Now at almost 17 she has joined the explorer program where she is being exposed to a wide range of law basically the instructors are working border patrol officers. I as mom am worried about my little girl.
She has an uncle who is a police officer and she wants to be apart of that. I as mom, who has no real strong nerve is still supportive but am hoping she will swing towards border patrol.
I know that can be dangerous, but something makes me feel safer about that. Maybe the fact that most times she will have people around her. I think of her walking into a domestic violent home and ... that scares me.
Anyways... wanted some insight. Thanks.
What sort of insight are you looking for?

I don't have kids, but both my wife and I were instructors in a LE Explorer program for a while. I would recommend that you encourage her to go to college, perhaps a major in CJ and some pre-Law courses as well. That will open up some opportunities and give you some more time before you have to worry about Domestic Disturbance calls.

There is much more to LE than being a street-cop (FBI, DEA, Postal Inspectors, CIA, Secret Service as well as military policing and investigative services), but even street-cops need education and a degree opens more doors.

Oh yes she's heading to college. She's got her eye on Husson College. I was making small talk, it was on my mind and thought maybe someone here may have a simular experience in a way. I got a PM< so that was helpful.

Cannot believe I just dug this off of page 3!

So, we're having what Grandma calls a cool snap! Highs in the low 70s/lows in the mid 40s for a few days. That will be a nice breather!

I can actually walk outside today!

Almost there! Just a couple more inches and we will break 200" for the year. Had a little last night and they are saying another 1" or so tonight.
