Default ~ good morning cd family! ~

Hello dear friends!

I see you've all been very busy while I've been away! It's so nice to see you all! I've missed you dearly!

I arrived back on the mainland yesterday afternoon and am back in Brunswick.

Thank you all for the wonderful msg's you've left me while I was away. For those that have left me facebook msg's, I'm unable to get on to it as I'm on my son's work computer. I decided not to bring my own at the last minute. Drews' work computer has some pretty high security settings. In fact, there is a little doo-hickey on his keyboard that is a finger print swipe! I can't even get on to it until he swipes his finger print over a reader of sorts that allows access.

Nevertheless, I see that you've all left me really sweet msg's that I'll return once I get back to FL. I fly out of Portland tomorrow late afternoon arriving in Ft. L around 11pm.

This is the first thread I've jumped into but I'm anxious to read what you've all been up to and how everybody's holiday was!

El, I've received the holiday card list and the updates. Very cool, I'll jump on that too once I get back to FL. It was sooo nice of you to put that together and it'll be so much fun to hear from everyone. Fantastic idea!

I have a ton of reading to catch up on. I'm happy to be back here on CD and hopefully as I read on I'll find you all well.

Coastal, Maineah and his DW and brother and I are still planning on getting together tonight here in Brunswick for drinks. If any of you other southerners care to join us, we'll be in the bar area at Back Street Bistro at 6pm. As Maineah says, "the more the merrier"!

Has anyone bought an mp3 for 7 & 8 year olds? I'm wondering what cheaper model will work well enough for them. We'd like to find one that does audio and video.

I order my lobster and shrimps from three sons lobster and fish in Portland. And just got of the phone with them, should have some in two days, and have no idea what the boat price is yet. They come with the head off, but you can request head on.

My 8-year-old wants one too. I've seen inexpensive models at Walmart (where else!):

I'm kind of looking at the Phillips Go Gear player. It comes in cool kid colors, it's a reasonable price, and it is dual audio/video. I just don't see any reviews on it. Of course, it's Walmart, so if it's crap, I can return it.

My kids have found luck with the RCA mp3 players as well as the Creative ones. They seem to last for them. They were 6 and 8 when they bought them.

The RCA went over the gunwale of the boat into 65' of water so that is a goner, but the Creative still works well almost 3 years later.
