Thanks!

"Mommy I didn't cry at all!" This is the line she greeted me with when I picked her up. She also said she had fun and wanted to go again. Phew!

It's been a few years for me, but I remember how I always cried after the bus was out of sight.
I really don't know why, I just assumed this was the begining of who they would become.

me too! With Katy, the third child, it was awful! She never went to preschool, and we were together all the time.... so, I expected that the first day of school might be difficult. Well, it was--for ME! The bus pulled up, she ran to it, got on, never even looked back!! No hug, no kiss, nothing! I'm still traumatized.

Congratulations to all the parents and to all the kids who passed the landmark this week of going off to the first day of school. It tugs at parents heart strings and makes them doubt if they did enough to prepare their kids for LIFE....it tests the kids who don't know if they are brave and strong and capable enough to go off and make their way among strangers; and it teaches them both that they did and that they are.

As we go thru life we learn the importance both of attatchments and to whom we are connected, but also that we are competent and capable individuals who have the capacity to function on our own.....and that there are many people outside family upon whom we can trust and rely. Again, congratulations!

And a special tribute to teachers! They are true heroes in our communities.
