We may take a drive down next weekend to attend this. It's only a bit over an hour's drive and we have never been to this event.

We're going on Friday to see the fireworks. We missed the 4th of July fireworks this year, so we promised the kids we'd take them to make up for it....

Windjammer Festival starts tomorrow! (Don't mean to bore anyone with this, but I'm really looking forward to it...)

curmudgeonly? I have to look that one up. Thanks for posting windjammer info. Closest I can come is via monitor screen. Maybe next year.

I remember back in '60s two shipmates and I were out on the town one evening and after having a few cool ones at the Bayview, decided to borrow a boat and row out to a windjammer anchored in the harbor at Rockland. I'm pretty sure it was the Victory Chimes. Upon approaching the ship we jokingly announced "Coast Guard boarding party". The jovial crew took us aboard and we were treated to a few refreshments and then departed. No citations issued (on either side). If doing that today we'd probably be in big trouble.

Fireworks were a lot of fun at the fetival last night! Harbor park was packed and there was some fun entertainment on the stage. Any festival that has a folk band singing AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long is okay with me! We 're going back either this afternoon or tomorrow to take pics of the ships. I'll post them soon...
