Dundalk, Maryland will celebrate Independence Day 2010 with its 76th annual Dundalk 4th of July Parade on Saturday July 3rd, beginning at 8:15 a.m. The route is the same as always. And sections of it are no more than a block away from the Heritage Fair.

The Dundalk Fourth of July Fireworks display will be held at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Saturday evening July 3, 2010, by the North Point Government Center at Merritt Boulevard and Wise Avenue. If you can see the top of the North Point Police Station radio tower, you can see most of the fireworks.

It's gonna be a hard Rockin', weekend long, Fourth of July Independence Day Celebration in Dundalk, Md!

I always forget about the Dundalk Heritage Independence 6K foot race that is run just before every 4th of July Parade, in Dundalk. The parade route goes right by my house, and I usually wake up just as the last of the runners pass on by to the finish line. I never pay much attention to it, but I want to be fair about all of Dundalk, Maryland's Fourth of July Celebration activities, so here is a link to info on The Dundalk Heritage Independence 6K run, which will be held on Saturday morning, July 3rd, at 7 am. All info is available at Charm City Run.

Godfrey Townsend is coming to Dundalk with the Turtles. Godfrey is a guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist who is so good on guitar that after hearing Godfrey jamming on some Cream tunes in a club one night, Eric Clapton's guitar tech, Lee Dickson commented to John Entwistle (bass player for the Who), "This guy's got Clapton down better than Clapton!"

On the Turtles' web site they have Joel Hoekstra listed as their guitarist and Greg Hawkes on keyboards. I do not know if Godfrey is replacing anyone or is an addition to the band, but I don't care, because they are all great musicians who are gonna Rock Dundalk on Sunday the 4th of July at the Heritage Fair.

And I'm excited about it, 'cause I'll be stopping by.

I'm going to the festival tomorrow - I grew up in the Dundalk area (well, Eastpoint really) and remember going to the parade as a kid. My younger sister was enrolled in a dance studio in Dundalk and would ride or walk in the parade way back in the 1960's and we would all go and watch it every year. But I haven't been to see it in ages. I'm looking forward to it! Should be a lot of fun!

Love the pix ursusdave - thanks for posting.
