The least expensive rental I see on the mls in Columbia is $800 so I hope you're selling more than ho dogs and icees.

You'll need to post exactly what you want - including type of home (apt, condo, townhome, etc), how many bedrooms/bathrooms, deal breakers, how long a commute you want, any other amenities you need (e.g. washer/dryer in unit or laundry is o.k.) and so on

There are many threads about housing so we need a lot more specific to help!

I can say I have looked at 2-3 bdr apartment/condo/townhomes in Columbia and they were $1400 (VERY low end) to $2400 in rent.

As far as safety the cheapest most inexpensive rental unit in columbia might have less crime than the most expensive condo unit in pg county...even in them lil section 8 areas around the mall they like to make infamous

This is probably too late, but check out homes2price.com to search for leases in all of these areas. The guy is based in frederick md but you can search all areas of md. use the map to select howard county. Long and Foster is a good agency to use when going to look for places, tell them what you are looking for and they will take you around to look at places.
