Hi all,

I got back from a great trip through the Eastern Shore to Ocean City. We were only there for a day but we stopped in Easton going to OC and in St Michaels coming back. They were both really charming little towns, loved 'em.

I noticed quite a few... nicer cars in both little towns though. I don't know if they were from out of town but they were from Maryland. It got me wondering what jobs are available within an hour's drive of those towns. It seems like Baltimore is a bit farther away and forget about DC. What do folks do around there?

I have assumed the fancy cars are owned by old money people, doctors, lawyer, and real estate agents. There aren't a lot of good jobs for average people in Easton or St. Michael's.

Not much independent industry, much like the rest of the state, the wealth is a product of Dc and bmore commerce.

Mostly vacationers, and retirees from Baltimore and D.C. Especially in Easton and St. micheals, actually the devil owns a very large mansion right outside of Easton, you can't get too close to it though, secret service is everywhere, oops did I say the devil, I mean "Dick Cheney"! Salisbury has a small pocket of wealth, largest employers on the shore are Perdue Chicken, Unversity of Maryland Eastern Shore, and Salisbury University. Also a lot of very high salary people stay in various towns on Marylands side of the shore who work at Wallops Island, VA NASA and Navy Base!

I have family in Easton and they are all retired. They made their money in DC and then retired to Easton/St Michael's area.
