Hello! Would like to know if anyone has knowledge of job application process with the Army Corps of Engineers and the Central Resume Processing Center in Aberrdeen MD.I have two applications with the Army Corps and are in a status of "Your resume has been referred to the selection official for consideration for this vacancy". I know it could take the feds a long time before I get an answer, if I even get one. Was wondering if anyone works with this Processing Center or knows someone who does. What the time frame is for getting an answer on the application status at this point. Thank you.

Assuming that this is a GS job, 6-8 months would not be unheard of for someone applying from the outside. In theory, they are supposed to select the winning candidate right after the closing date for the job announcement, but........

jland-Thanks for your response. It does not surpise me to hear that, I did work for the state goverment for many years prior to the private sector I'm now working in. More than likely cannot wait for this outcome with the Army Corps, must continue applying to private firms. I got one response last month from firm in Oklahoma City area just few days after submitting cover letter and resume, although not a match. I have a feeling anything I get may end up being from the private sector.
