I used to listen to Mix 98.5 - the station out of Boston that had John Lander in the morning. I read something when I was searching for where the station went that he got fired. Anyway, where is the station on the dial now?

I also would listen to WXLO out of Worcester. Did that one change?

What radio stations are your favorite? What's the format of your favorite stations?

Mix 98.5 FM is now Mix 104.1 FM, replacing WBCN last Aug. Same concept and I think same DJs?

Mix 98.5 FM is now 98.5 WBZ-FM (The Sports Hub), a local sports station with overnite syndication. Nice alt. to the established AM sports station.

I listen to news and lots of talk. Boston is blessed/cursed with so much local talk on various stations, most of it local (unusual in the syndication age of today)

I like WBOS 92.9 FM, KISS-108 FM, WFNX 101.7 FM, Mix 104.1 FM and WTKK 96.9 FM (Boston Talks).

Yep, Mix is now at 104.1. However, Lander's contract wasn't renewed. I don't know where he went. I believe that CBS Radio owns Mix and they were too cheap to pay him. The morning DJs on there now are a man/woman duo. They're okay, but nothing noteworthy and not as good as Lander or Matty on KISS 108.

My radio presents are NPR (90.9), KISS 108 (Top 40), 92.9 (which is now 90s rock), 101.7 (the only modern rock/alt station left after 104.1 BCN went off the air) and 93.7 MIKE (no DJs and they're tagline is that they play everything).

Not sure about your Worcester station.

WCRN is the big (50,000 watts) Worcester talk station.

I tend to listen to 98.5 (the sports hub) when I want mindless sports radio. When I want music, its usually 101.7 (WFNX) and 88.9 (WERS Emerson run free radio).

When the girlfriends in the car... I have no control.

WBUR (90.9) for NPR news, etc. and I really like 92.5 The River Boston which is an independent radio station (Eastern MA, it's up in Haverhill.) It plays a good mix of old and new bands, some well known and others just breaking out.

WXLO = 104.5 ... that one has been constant since as long as I've remembered

In the Boston market, I usually listen to 100.7 WZLX. However, since it's been owned by CBS Radio the last few years - I expect that to turn to crap eventually. Become much more corporate controlled, fire Carter Alan, and the playlist shrinks dramatically.

Most else I listen to involves the sports talk stations or HD radio subchannels. 100.7-HD2 (blues), 104.1-HD2 (80s music only), and 106.7-HD2 (smooth jazz)

But for the most part, corporate radio is pure garbage and I don't listen to much of it. I don't live close enough to the city to get 92.5 or 101.7 to make fair comment on them.

I don't either but I stream them since the signal is too weak to get on the radio in the house or in the car.
