People who grumble about price before bids are submitted or scope is discussed, do get the PITA pricing -- pain in the *## because you know you're going back a hundred times over the next month for every little thing that's not covered in the project.

But, PITA pricing is not limited to geography. It's based on the person. Unless, CaseyB, you're saying only people in these zip codes are PITAs?

No, I am saying that people who live in a "wealthy" zip code are going to be quoted a higher price on the assumption that they have more money. Being zip-coded is a well known situation.

And there I was wasting my time for over ten years quoting and billing for a project's actual costs when all I had to do was just through any old random big-a$$ number out and hope some fool will pay it. It would have saved me SO MUCH time doing it this way.

That has never been my experience working in metro Boston and the Cape. I am sorry some people feel that it has been their experience.

I don't know, it depends if you want to cheat someone or not. But it does exist.
