Looking for info from those who live on or around this lake. Is it a nice area to live? Is there a lot going on around the lake? Is Spencer a nice area? We don`t need the school system.

It is not considered a particularly desirable town, though there are some very nice areas of town. The general population is lower income/working class and the housing reflects this. If schools and compelling amenities aren't a worry (e.g., quality dining), then I suspect you will be satisfied.

As for Spencer lake ... there isn't one. Are you referring to Lake Whittemore? If so, it happens to be on the fringe of the downtown area. Spencer's downtown is a bit polarized. Aesthetically, it is not the worst looking main street with a number of grand older homes lining the road; however, there are also plenty of run down rental buildings throughout as well. I would stay to the more rural north side of town, both to avoid the rentals and congestion.
