It's like they got every other one right except Sturbridge.

Swamp Yankees are generally more respectable that what we are talking about here and besides, they are limited to certain geographical areas in southern New England.

Swamp Yankee, redneck, white trash...there is of course some overlap but they all take on different meanings of their own. And right, swamp yankee is restricted to SE Mass and RI.

They'd have to compete with the town next to it, TEWKSBURY.

LOL, for EMass, I think so too. Does anyone think Dracut qualifies? I'm sorry if I offend anyone from Dracut but I'm not from this part of the state.

Another vote for Tewksbury complete with its own Cracker Barrel.

Those towns, I never got that impression at all. Most I've met are blue-collar city types, lots of old school Italians.

As far as towns inside 495, oddly the one town that ever struck me as having that about it was Pembroke. I mean it's an affluent town, but it also has some of that element to it. Just outside 495, Ayer deserves an honorable mention as well.

As for New Hampshire, I'm afraid it has nothing on my current home state of Maine.

Carver, Wareham, Middleborough, Lakeville qualify at least for Swamp Yankee status.

We had friends who made the mistake of moving there. Every time they bought something for their house (like a new television), the wife would have to cut the box up into really teeny pieces before they put it out in the trash because otherwise their neighbors would go through it all to see what they were buying.
