Well, I can tell you that most of my childhood was in Foxboro, where a classmate was said to be albino. Looked it, and she had the nystagma. She also had many relatives in the area, though I have no idea if the family tree lacked branches.

That is what I found ironic about some of the more strident racists from rural Wisconsin that I have met (they had probably only seen a relative handful of blacks in their entire lives, yet they still despised them.)

Douglas hasn't really fit that category since the 80s.

I always get Douglas mixed up with Webster and/or Dudley, so replace Douglas in my statement with one of those!

Washington MA. There used to be a place there called Woody's Roadhouse, though I would call it more of a biker gang type of place than redneck.

Maybe they should pursue more specific, hands on research such as: dead cars up on blocks in the front yard, number of high school dropouts, percentage of people living in trailers, number of chainsaw owners, percentage of people who eat roadkill. Then there's the even more politically incorrect details about number of teeth in mouth.

If you really want to know about New England rednecks, try New Hampshire!
Have you been to the Walmart in Seabrook? Wow. Mainly fat rednecks (or redneck-looking). It's like a weird sociological excursion of some sort, & reminds me of small towns in the Mid-West.

Then you go just a few miles miles N. along RT1, & everything changes, mostly. "Normal" people, surbanites. Lots of Trump signs tho, during the last primary.......

I feel like Walmart caters to rednecks. It's always has the most interesting assortment of people when I shop there.

no it caters to low income people who may not be able to afford Macy's or whatever.
Its like people who pay $.075/lb for Delmonte Bananas at Whole Foods because they want to feel superior to Market Basket folks who pay $0.39/lb for the same bananas
