You're probably the first professional alligator wrestler who's asked about moving to MA. There's just not a whole lot of reptile-based businesses/professions in New England, and those that do exist are likely tied to the U.S. Dept of the Interior/Forestry departments or similar state agencies. There are tours like whale watch tours, but those again, are seasonal, and I think they tend to employ people who have degrees related to oceanography or marine life.

I think you need to focus on getting a job up here first -- whether that's in the Boston area, or someplace a little more rural, which would have more affordable housing, but may not have the high end restaurants, etc. (I don't suppose you ski, right?) You could also look into the college town areas, which might have a few high end restaurants or maintain some kind of museums or touristy type attraction -- I'm kind of guessing, but it might be worth a look at the job sites in places like Northampton, Amherst, Williamstown (all in MA), Hanover, NH, Burlington, VT, or maybe even Portland, ME.

This is a tall order, especially with your wife apparently hoping to stay home with the kids. Good luck to you.
