It is happening with rentals as well. A new six floor 169 unit apartment complex was built right next to the Providence Amtrak/MBTA Train Station. It is very much being marketed to people that work in Boston but want cheaper rent. Offers garage parking, fitness center, and roof top deck. Can walk out the door to the station and be in Boston in about a hour via train.

Providence is a great city. But, $2k for a one bedroom seems a little expensive to me.

The train ride takes more than an hour. On paper it takes about an hour but realistically Keolis sucks and its going to take longer than that most days.

Why? Its has all the amenities of a luxury Boston apartment? and you'll be to work in a little over an hour. Thats not bad.

It took me over an hour to get from Wood Ave/River Street to Roxbury Latin on Public transit as a kid going to school

The 1 hour time they're quoting is pure fiction.

"a little over an hour". but ill tell you what Hyde Park/Mattapan border to West Roxbury was that is NOT fiction.

Walk from river/wood to Hyde Park Ave 10-15 minutes, wait for bus 5 minutes, bus from Westminster and HPAve to Forest Hills 20-25 minutes, wait for bus 5-10 minutes, bus ride from Washington street to Roxbury Latin 20 minutes.

About 70 minutes

Hell- When I lived in Dorchester, public transit to my part time job Malden/Everett Border was over an hour. and forget about Dorchester to Stoneham.

walk to Shawmut 10 minutes, shawmut to downtown 15 minutes, wait for train 5 minutes, train to wellington 25 minutes, bus from wellington to nearby the stone zoo -10-15 minutes, walk to stone zoo 10 minutes.

About 80 minutes

il take the 80 minute commute on one trian , thank you very much

There are nice two bedrooms in Boston proper to rent for around that price. I get that if you want a place with a full list of amenities in Cambridge/Seaport etc, yes it is closer to 3k. But you aren't gambling on a 1.2 hour at minimum commute.
