We can thank Reagan for that approach.

they might register as independent but they vote democrat. maybe they call themselves independent so they can vote for anyone in the primary. They register independent just in case there is a fake republican they like. take good ole Charlie Baker for instance.

There was a contested primary election between Markey/Kennedy for the Senate. I think that is what attracted them.

Ah yes, the scourge of “fake Republicans” making it to ballots. Do yourself a favor and read up on the policies of Bill Weld, or more elder GOP leadership (e.g., George Romney).

Democrats say basically the same thing.

Massachusetts parties are not well aligned with their national counterparts. I think people are more willing to overlook the differences at the state level than at the national level.

It doesn't? Just because you 'believe' the crap this video is spewing? What doesn't work is posting sources that are full of lies and that are not verifiable. This is the reason Trumpers will believe anything they hear out of his mouth. Most of them do not ever fact check, nor do most of them understand how to do so.

Not that there are a million missing ballots or anything.
The official definition of semi-closed is 30 days, but the state says independent voters can declare support at the voter check in desk, vote, and when they walk out, they go back to undeclared. I voted in the 2016 D primary because the poll worker said there was no one in the green primary, want a D ballot?

“The left” is simply aware that what you are posting is, often times, misinformation.
