There's a commute rail stop in Plymouth as well.

Greenbush to South Station is a pathetic 58 minutes. Kingston to S Station is also 58 minutes, from Plymouth being well over an hour. Mansfield to S Station is 42 minutes, plus you have the option of getting off at Back Bay. Mansfield is just a superior commute all the way around. You also need to remember that the Plymouth line didn't come till the late 90s, the Greenbush not till the 2000s, so their disadvantage there was even more pronounced before.

I actually meant kingston, but there is one in Plymouth too.

Im not sure what is closest to Marshfield.

Probably about the same, depending on where in town you are. Not sure about the parking situation in either.

Living off of 3A and working in Boston is not for the faint-hearted. Some days that 58 minutes is better than the drive some days it isn't. God forbid it's Cape tourism season.
