What is the world coming to:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wcv...tions/38058934

It’s one thing to get rid of Columbus Day but Halloween!? Most people particularly kids love Halloween. What will our kids have to look forward to? Halloween is a big deal. Thinking of what You want to be, picking out a costume, Halloween parties, pumpkin carving, haunted houses and of course trick or treating. I’m really hoping there’s a huge revolt on this one and I’m certainly not giving up Halloween.

I don’t even know who is feeling uncomfortable with Halloween but too bad I say. Suck it up. My former colleague was pagan and even she and her kids celebrated Halloween.

Why haven’t we gotten rid of Christmas ? If anything Halloween is more inclusive than Xmas. Hell people who don’t even believe in god get their kids Xmas gifts and Easter baskets. This is sooo ridiculous

I lived in neighboring Wakefield for a few years but I didn't know people around there were that crazy. How MEAN and CRAZY can anyone get? Whose smug idea was this? I hope this is the only instance of Halloween stupidity in MA and now I am actually GLAD that I had to move to CT.

I wonder who some of these people think they are? If it were to protect health, I would be fine with it but inclusiveness? They are doing an injustice to kids when this could be a learning experience for them to see that we are not all the same, people have different beliefs, different celebrations, different religions. They need to learn to tolerate, not eliminate.

I hope the parents protest and rebel at this theft of a very long and fun tradition for kids.

Yeah, but white supremacy is the real problem in America.

"Kukenberger said the changes are being made in an effort to create more equity and be more inclusive to students who do not celebrate Halloween."

I don't understand. Who doesn't celebrate Halloween?

Apparently there are some religious groups that don’t celebrate it like Muslim and jehovahs witnesses. So what !?

How about get rid of varsity sports since not everyone makes the team? Or get rid of sports all together because not everyone is athletic. Also what about AP classes? Sorry but they all seem non inclusive. Waaahhhhh!!

No one is stopping anyone from letting their kid put on a costume and go trick or treating.

It's just the schools. When I first read it I thought the entire city was cancelling the holiday. Schools have now become bastions of insanity so I'm not surprised.

Well this is pretty wild. I wonder if it’s a knee-jerk reaction to a singular event that they’re not elaborating on? I googled thinking the Turtleboy link might be skewing the story a bit and it doesn’t look like it is: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbc...2535683/%3Famp. What a vague explanation. And why such short notice? Seems ridiculous.
