Gas prices are getting crazy these days.

A friend of mine spent $100 to fill his truck recently.

And now there're places outside of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket charging $4 per gallon or more for gas. Can't imagine this gets any better before Thanksgiving

Maybe he shouldn't drive such a big truck.

Tell your friend to buy an efficient vehicle if he is concerned about gas prices. Most (about 80%) truck owners don't need a truck.

I went to get gas the other day and all they had left was premium. Usually gas prices go up in summer time...so it seems a little off to be happening now but the prices of everything are going up

Biden wants everyone in electric cars. I don't see this getting better anytime soon.

At $5.00 per gallon, I’ll bet you’ll be able to find good deals on full size pickups and giant SUVs. Maybe I’ll put a Chevy Subdivision in my driveway. LOL

When my wife had a bunch of hospitals in the south and flyover country from Nashville, she always rented giant pickup trucks. Half the vehicles on the road are that big and a Hertz “midsize” feels like a clown car.

My DH wants to get a pick up truck and I am against it, i just don't like them. It feels like they have become more popular or at least I've noticed them more being out of the city. I've noticed families with kids have them with a front seat and back seat, people bring them on the beach, you can fit a lot of stuff in the back so i guess that makes them convenient.

Everyone has a different lifestyle...if you have 3 or 4 kids playing sports and a dog a tiny electric vehicle is not going to work. Many people look at others who have a big car with disdain...but it's literally sometimes needed. Stations wagons have evolved but if you have a family of 5+ you need a bigger car.

I have a volvo SUV so Id say that's pretty mid size....

I think a minivan is more practical than a pick up truck and more so than third-row SUV's. My old Subaru Outback died and I have a Sienna hybrid ordered and on the way.

OP didn't exactly say his friend was complaining about what it cost to fill up.

I'm in the market for a truck. As much as i'd like to think high gas prices would affect the market for one, it hasn't. Used trucks still cost as much as new trucks which I think is ridiculous. Just going to wait it out a bit longer....

You can fit much more in the bed of a truck than you can in the back of a minivan.

I rarely see minivans these days.

Yes they’ve definitely fallen out of fashion, which I kind of like.

And with the third row stowed away it carries a lot unless you need the height that the open bed of a truck provides.
