It's not the easiest place to get to boston from either if that is the main reason people are moving there. It's not close to the highway.

Does the above mentioned mean I can see why a cape would be worth a million bucks? not in the least.

I am still baffled by this to be honest. There are better towns with better priced real estate.
except for the part that the highway runs right through it on one side and it borders Boston on the other?

It’s a 10 minute walk from this house to the commuter rail stop into Boston (4 stops to Back Bay, 5 to South Station). Trains on the hour from 6a-11p.

The commute is less than anywhere on the south shore, whether by public transportation or car. It’s not even close.

So what? and no the highway doesn't run right through it. It's 34 min to Boston right now, without traffic. That isn't great. It is not less of a commute than Milton or Quincy. Wow. Are you even from around here??

Not sure why people are such advocates of Dedham the minute they see someone paid a million bucks for a 3 bedroom house there? Still baffled. Pretty sure its because posters defending Dedham just don't like me lol

there is no way any normal person from MA should ever be ok with a cape going for a million dollars in Dedham. I wouldnt be ok with it in Milton.

In viewing recently purchased homes in Dedham, it seems the close to million dollar one was over the top. Most of the others homes were fairly normally priced/sold given that the median home price is $669k

I-95 would not be the highway i'd want to get into Boston, give me 93S.

And again using google directions it takes 34 min to get to boston from dedham at the moment.

and come again are you saying you see why someone would pay a million dollars for a 3 bedroom house in dedham because of those factors?

34 minutes is a short commute time.... both my parents were doing considerably more than that driving each way in 40 years ago traffic

It’s an expensive reason but are there better reasons? It’s all subjective.
