I'm curious as to what she stole at TJX that would equal $3800...unless it was over a period of time? Even their furniture doesn't cost that much.
Newton TJX sometimes gets expensive designer items, I’ve even seen $8,000 Brunello Cucinelli jackets selling for $999 if I recall correctly. I don’t think other locations don’t get anything expensive, especially in middle class towns like Framingham.

I heard that the Framingham store is actually the best one because that's where their corporate offices are located. (Source: a former buyer who worked for them.)

Ding ding. It's not hard at all for me to imagine walking out with thousands of dollars in merchandise from those stores, particularly in the accessories section. I've gotten a lot of really nice designer fragrances (my weakness) there.
I pass by another TJMaxx store and have another one closer to home in order to go to the one in Framingham. Framingham isn't Newton, but it's also not the Framingham of 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago.

It would be pretty tough to stuff 100 bottles in your pockets. Unless, of course, they started selling Creed or Roja, in which case it would only take 10 or so.
I guess I’m a minimalist because I really don’t see how I could easily find $3800 of merchandise at tj max in one trip. In the event this woman found $3800 of stuff I’m curious to know how she walked out with it. I guess I don’t like the place that much. Most things I have noticed there don’t cost more than $ 200. I do like their skincare. Pretty good brands at good prices. I’d have to be stealing the entire skincare section to get to $3800 I would think

Friends don't let friends wear Creed, but good point. That said, there are frequently bottles of Balenciaga and Montale pushing $100 and the reason I like the Framingham store in particular is that I've run into Bond No. 9 and Perfums de Marly bottles at over $200 (but still a steal from the normal $300+ price point). I haven't snagged any of the above because they're never scents I'm familiar with, but the selection is a step above the average shelves of Burberry Brit or SJP Stash (cheap, but still one of my faves!) at the average TJMaxx. My best buy was Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb at about half off. That said, the nicer/more expensive fragrances are fewer and far between.
I suppose someone could get one of the more expensive handbags, pull off a tag, and then stuff it with the most expensive fragrances and skincare care stuff. It would take a few trips to make $3000+ but probably less than you'd think!
