I hope he runs. I’ll vote twice for him if I can.

First a few basic things here. One the number of people is only 50 it's not like this is that New Bedford way that happened more than 10 years ago where hundreds of people were stranded away from the families and there was no coordination between DCF and immigration.

2) there's not much for them to do on Martha's Vineyard and he probably knew it the idea that all communities have the ability to perform all services doesn't make a whole lot of sense

3)there's actually no real definition of a sanctuary study or Sanctuary state it differs dramatically depending on where you're looking at

I think we're going to see a debate in this country in a larger scale with respect immigration because it seems to be a break between the number of job openings that exist it also the amount of available housing. It's obvious that Martha's Vineyard is off-season and the amount of housing simply is not there so of course people are concerned it's not anti-immigrant to have these concerns

I'm surprised some cape and island hotels doesn't call up and say we'll take the migrants and give them $15/hr minimum wage jobs they couldn't fill all year. Isn't there a labor shortage in most of Massachusetts for lower paying migrant jobs. They cant afford housing, that's the issue but should Massachusetts be letting more people in to help with staffing? Florida doesn't want more people because there are not the same job mismatch.

Notice that Desantis did not pull this when he was in Nantucket last month begging for money from the coastal elites.
Also notice he did not send the Cubans that washed up on his shore recently.
Anyway, keep them coming and maybe send some trashy junky m*******s down there to trade.

More probably came here in a legal gray space with none of those things. Not even health. The ancestors' argument is a bad one given how lax everything was back in the Ellis Island Days. The whole country was founded on people who just decided to come here.

Obviously we want employable healthy people but the throwback to the ancestors seems a little unfair. The bar is much higher now for legal immigration.

Attempting voting fraud?
Not surprised.
It’s all ok to vote twice if you are a republican.

Others who want to get in should apply like the rest of the immigrants do. No country just lets people come in with no medical or background check. Many of us had ancestors who came --legally. They had sponsors, guaranteed jobs, were checked out to make sure they were healthy and not criminals. FIX the immigration system=problem solved.
Do not blame Republicans for this mess,it is all on the Dems.

why are you so pro immigration? The whole country was founded a long time ago. It's now being abused. There need to be other countries for people to go to. The US can't be the one place everyone comes to when they feel like it or want a better life. Go to Cananda, go to Europe, make other places better. This country will collapse or will just be a complete wasteland of buildings with no nature left in 40 years.
