On that note many people find it depressing and maddening to have to share a country with people here illegally. Then they and their kids end up crowding our school systems, hospitals, roads, public transit, parks, museums, zoos, grocery stores, colleges, malls you name it. Many of us are tired of that.
Most except for hardcore trumpies have zero issue sharing the country with productive, contributing members of the society, even those who are here illegally. Problem is many of the illegals, especially the recent Uncle Joe fauxsylum herds, take a whole lot more than they contribute. And before the usual suspects start screeching about illegals paying sales tax - NYC $1,000,000,000 batch that has the city screaming no mas por favor costs the taxpayers close to $100,000/year per head, is each illegal paying $100,000 worth of sales tax per year?

Amigo, why do you keep conflating educated, skilled, in-demand legal immigrants with a herd of uneducated, unskilled, unemployable fauxsylum illegals that are turning our cities into cesspools and bleeding the taxpayers dry?
My company is doing their annual I-9 reverification now, I had to go into the office for it. And yes, while there are certain problems that go along with illegal immigration, there are also certain benefits - like low cost labor and even work being done at all that native born residents don't want to do. I do wish we had better control over the situation and it wasn't such a circus. But I don't have this loathing, this contempt for these people that some do. My parents were immigrants, and they, my aunts and uncles spoke Dutch among themselves - that sound is for me, comforting. I don't look down on people with less education or income than myself - that's how I was raised - my mother said that her Dad taught her - you speak with everyone the same way, whether you're talking to the garbageman or the governor (and his dad was the governor). I find this thread depressing, to be honest, and won't follow it further.
Personally, I’d like to see true immigration reform with the felony for hiring an illegal. We have a labor shortage since nobody wants to do menial jobs. I’m fine with giving immigrant visas to find labor to do those jobs but it has to be on the books and everyone needs to have an I-9. What we have now is the replacement for slavery.
What illegal people are working in hospitals that couldn't be staffed by someone else? The cleaning people? Hard to get certified or get through a background check in anything else if you're illegal...but who knows these days.

Our hospitals, rehab facilities, and nursing homes are staffed with immigrants from top to bottom. Without them, the system would totally collapse.

I meant illegal. You know what I meant. But immigration in general has destroyed healthcare systems and public school systems. People treat this country like a free for all. Why are we the only place to go ??

So amigo, just out of curiosity, how is agitprop planning to handle the very inconvenient news coming out of NYC that are obliterating the illegals are good for the economy meme? Will they keep spreading the lies while trying to shout down the facts, or will they give up now the the cat is out of the bag and pivot to their usual racism and lack of compassion accusations?
Also for a millionth time amigo, mumbling “asylum jefe, asylum” does not make you a legal immigrant, it makes you a felon who not only entered illegally but also committed perjury.
I also see several people saying it's the rich people who hire the illegals for cheap so that's why they want them here. That makes a lot of sense of course and rarely do they have to share space with the illegals and their families. They go home to their upper class/wealthy suburb that the illegals can't ever afford (because they would never pay them enough), their kids go to better public or private schools. Meanwhile it's the middle/lower class people that feel the effects that the illegals have on their towns and communities and people wonder why they're mad and call them racist whenever they can.
