Yeah I'm surprised there's not more anger towards what he did. He was in a crowded parking lot where there wasn't much room or opportunity to be going fast. The fact the slammed into the one place that has glass windows and was probably the most crowded store other than kohl's or Whole Foods in the area is just weird. It's not like he had an accident with another vehicle. This was all him. People have gotten put away for doing less.

I'm not sure how I'd live with myself for doing something like this. He must be humiliated plus the guilt of killing someone plus critically injuring many others.

I haven't heard anybody say he shouldn't go to jail I think people want to know all the facts. I also don't think most people get "angry" over something until they know exactly what happened. I'm not going to use the same line of thinking and mentality of those who hang law enforcement out to dry for use of force incidents, without all the facts. That's a mob mentality.

I think people do get angry about accidents like this where someone died. I can't say it's keeping me up at night as I don't know the people personally but it's still disturbing

Arraignment was this week and the charge was changed from negligent homicide to 2nd degree murder along with A&B charges. Does this imply he drove into the store intentionally?

Not necessarily, for example felony murder is also a type of second degree murder and it doesn't require to prove it was intentional.
I guess we will have to wait for trail to see what is the idea of the prosecution. I am a bit puzzled by this decision at the moment.

Update on this story:

https://www.wcvb.com/article/hingham...ary-5/46646433

Apparently the guy keeps letting his ankle bracelet thingy die. I wonder if they are faulty devices? I know someone who had to blow into one of interlock ignition devices and there were all sorts of issues with it and it constantly locked them out with no alcohol present.

Not making excuses for the guy at all as he seems to have some big issues and killed someone.

Ankle bracelets have to be charged daily. When they are close to running out of power, it vibrates and sends a notice to the monitoring company. When the charging pack is plugged in, it sends a notice again. If it's not plugged in within a timeframe, the wearer receives a visit.

Get enough visits and your privilege of wearing it at home is taken away and off to the county jail you go. In his case, it was part of his bail agreement

It's pretty simple - charge the monitor everyday while sitting around the house and enjoy the relative freedom versus sitting in jail awaiting trail.
