As long as the rain doesn't continue when temps drop I'd assume most outages substantially cleared overnight, a few that will take a day plus. But there could be more to come. Glad I'm not in costal Maine right now, that and Buffalo. Hearing rumors we might get sent there over Christmas depending on how bad it gets.
Thanks for the update and everything you do. I’m sure this is not the ideal way to spend Christmas weekend.

Lots of small branches all over people's yards and the street. A big tree fell in the Burlington town common across from the police station. Didn't lose power thankfully. Also thankful for getting a new roof this year.

Yes, thank you!! It's stressful for customers to face a storm like this at a time like this - but I've been thinking of the crews out there.

I lost power for a couple of hours around 4:30. We have underground wiring but it doesn't do any good.

Wow really, what causes power to go out even if they're underground?

The underground cables connect above ground somewhere.

Yes. The cables that are underground are protected from the elements so there are less outages, present less safety risks, require less overall maintenance although that maintenance may be more costly and take longer. It also improves the esthetics of the area. High voltage lines can't be buried as far as I know, so there is always a risk to those lines. Like other protective measures it doesn't eliminate all the risk but the more lines that are underground means less chance of losing utilities, and reduces the footprint and overall impact of outages that do occur.
