I was worried because they were predicting snow for this area (Northampton and environs), but it ended up being mostly rain and freezing rain. Today there is a whole lot of mud, but luckily there is some wind which should dry things up.

All the spring indicators are here. Wood frogs for a month now, heard spring peepers. Skunk cabbage coming up. Red wing blackbirds.

I don't know about the boonies but a few flakes come down where I am. Not enough to even affect my driveway.

I checked the historic weather for Worcester airport and I believe this is the first time ever the average daily T has been above freezing for both the months of January and February. I checked back to 1988 and confirmed it hasn't occurred at least since then.

Today was 75 and dry enough to start fires it does not get better than that. June is great in the summer but once July hits the 90's are too much. 75-to 84 is perfect. 68 degrees at night it does not get better than that. We don't get many 70 degree days in the summer in mass. Our spring feels like one month.

I got off the plane at Logan yesterday afternoon after the rain festival in Vancouver and Seattle. I was massively overdressed waiting at the curb for Logan Express. When I got to the car, I rolled down the windows and hit the MAX button on the A/C. The Polartec is in the washing machine and I’m wearing shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. Time to pump up the bicycle tires.

We got a puppy in January. He was born in November (in Maine, no less), so all he's ever known is cold. These last two days have been a learning experience - he's loved laying in the sun all throughout the colder months, but he hasn't yet figured out that the sun is causing him to nearly overheat (we've had to move him to the shade several times) now that it's warmer out. He's slow as molasses on our walks and doesn't yet realize that it's better in the shade. I'm not complaining about the temps, but hopefully the learning curve for the dog isn't all that steep.
