Anytime the American Flag offends anyone in the USA, it is time for them to leave in my opinion.

Not sure what this has to do with moving to or even visiting Hawaii. However, I do have a question for you. Doesn't the American flag stand for freedom and doesn't that include the freedom to be offended by it? I served in the military during war time and I am proud to be an American. However, if you start taking away these sort of freedoms, then the American flag means nothing.

Default Mr Frosty

Well, the reason it has to do with moving to Hawaii is because I really don't even want to consider moving back to Hawaii and spend all the money, transfer jobs, and get there and be faced with what I am seeing escalate in the area I live now.

I just believe a nice mix of people (right and left) is best because when one party gets too much power they seem to lose touch with the people that they are supposed to be listening to and it all becomes about power. So I was concerned since I noticed that Hawaii seems to have turned all blue and I wondered why.

With all due respect, IMHO, if someone is insulted by our flag then they really should just live under a flag they love. It's a big world, there are plenty of flags they can live under.

AND they have no business to be spitting on or sticking their middle finger up at someone because they were holding the American flag.

I agree, that is wrong. Very wrong! Anytime you infringe upon another's rights you are in the wrong. However, the flag stands for freedom and if you take that away then the flag means nothing at all. One who is simply offended by the flag or even burns his or her own flag in protest in a safe manner, is within their own rights.
So many good people have fought and died for freedom. Please do not diminish it's meaning and start taking away that for which the American flag stands for in the first place.

(By the way, the comments in my earlier post were made to Bluff_Dweller.)

So where in the US do you see this political paradise you wish for currently in existence?

Default Political Paradise???

I don't know where it is but being I am from Hawaii and before it was a nice mix of blue and red. I just don't know what happened that suddenly the whole state is blue. Respectfully blue is OK, in your face screaming blue is a whole different thing.

I wouldn't want to live in an "in your face screaming" red state either. Too much of one party is dangerous no matter which side it is.

Those days are dead. Hawaii is on the list of the top 10 most liberal states (tie with New York). Florida is not. Perhaps Florida is better for you after all.

Florida is very Liberal. Northerners are flocking to Florida and bring their liberal thinking with them. I know, I live here. Our Gov is a Repub and the papers slaughter everything the man does. He even jumped on the Obamacare bandwagon and they still hate him. Even editorials that are printed are always left also the media (TV) is left.

I'm not looking to live in a Conservative state. You might have missed me stating that I was born and raised in Hawaii and while I was there it was a mix of red and blue. I am just wondering if people are wearing their politics on their sleeves and are they extreme left? What happened that it turned all Blue???

I have stated I just do not think it is in our country's best interest if 1 party is running the show. It just doesn't ever work out and the people are the ones who suffer and have to pick up the pieces. Left or Right, doesn't matter. It's just better when politics are run by both sides.

I'm an independent voter. I vote for the person and their track record, not for a party.
