I finaaly tried it after being asked if I was really from Memphis since I'd never been previously. I am an avid supporter of Coletta's, though. Well I tried the pizza and it was not that tasty. I won't be going back.

I've found that Memphis Pizza Cafe is hit or miss. I've had the best pizza I've ever had in my life there, but I've also had just so-so pizza. Not bad pizza, mind you, but for the price, I expected more. The service is also just OK, especially at the East Memphis location. I think if you go at a less busy time, you'll find both the pizza and service better than at peak time (that's been my experience, anyway). My faves--Cajun Chicken Supreme or the Alternative with added feta, sundried tomatoes and mushrooms.

I've never found great pizza in Memphis, period. I think MPC is more of a hang-out type of place, at least the midtown location.

Never tried it.
But if I recall correctly, there was one at Wolfchase and it went under. If that speaks for it at all.

I like Garibaldi's. Been meaning to try Coletta's.

The MPC on Park, and the one in midtown are always packed. I think if you have a few beers, it tastes better

I didn't know the Wolfchase one closed. But it's probably hard to compete when you have 100 other big-chain restaurants surrounding.

Used to be on the opposite end from Buffalo Wild Wings, right? It's a McAlister's now.

I ate one time at the one at Wolfchase....wasn't impressed at all....never went back. I'm not crazy about Coletta's either, but my best friend (who lives in Atlanta) insists on having their BBQ pizza every time he comes to town. Different strokes.....

There are several things I miss about Memphis, and Coletta's BBQ pizza is definitely one of them! (Café Olé is another thing I really miss about Memphis.)

I always liked MPC but like the others have said it wasn't just for the pizza but for the atmosphere. The pizza wasn't the best in the world but it was far from the worst. I only went to the MPC in midtown.

Has anyone been to the new Pizza Oven in Midtown yet? I recently read an article about it in the Commercial Appeal and have been wanting to check it out. The menu sounded really delicious!

As for MPC, I've been once and thought it was fine, but certainly nothing to crave.

That should be the slogan for City Data (although the connection is a bit weak)! Beer...It makes everything better!
