Where did you get this info that Quetzal means parrot? There's a bird called the Quetzal.

If I'm not mistaken parrot is cochotl

in mexico there are about 2 million direct descendents of the aztec empire geneticlly and and linguisticlly in the u.s i worked with some nahuatl they callthemselves mesahuamej the real mexicans or nahuas the peolpe of in between the waters
