I think many people living in the USA share your thoughts on this. I live in Chicago, and people who also live here have, literally at their fingertips, the ability to experience probably enough (for them) of the Mexican cultural experiences .. including the arts and food. I doubt there's another city in the USA where you can find as wide a variety of Mexican food served in restaurants, prepared as it's prepared in Mexico. So, for many people ... this "little" is enough for them to satisfy their wanting to eperience a bit of Mexico ... close to home.

"little" is just a slice of a much larger picture.

I think its foolish to say that one doesn't need to travel to Mexico because you can find all things Mexico in the USA. Certainly the massive influx of Mexicans in the USA have left a strong imprint on American society and these impressions can give you a glimpse of what Mexico is like but there are experiences in Mexico that cannot be replicated in the USA.

I guess as you said that "little" is enough for some people, small minded people.

It would be like me saying well we have a large Chinese community in the Los Angeles area so I don't need to go all the way to China to get a Chinese experience.

It sounds off.
